===== Information for Users ("READ-ME") ================
WALL $TREET RAIDER, RELEASE 5.0, WELCOMES YOU TO THE CORPORATE WARS!
Law schools and business schools that have site-licensed this unique
financial stock market simulation from us say that, not only do their
students love playing it, but that, without a doubt, it is BY FAR the
most sophisticated business/stock market simulation in existence.
Wall $treet Raider is a financial strategy games. An extraordinarily
realistic, "real-time" corporate financial simulation, in which 1 to 4
players (one of whom can be the computer) engage in high-stakes games of
financial empire-building and corporate takeovers. You can emulate a
Carl Icahn or a T. Boone Pickens, using the same tools and techniques as
the real corporate raiders who lurk in the Wall Street financial jungle
of today. These include: junk-bond financed hostile takeovers,
mergers, LBO's, "greenmail," insider trading opportunities, anti-trust
lawsuits against competitors, manipulating corporate earnings, stock-
for-stock mergers, tax avoidance, firing managements, restructuring,
liquidating assets or corporations, seeking to increase market share,
trade stocks and bonds, public offerings, tender offers, and much more.
The action is continuous, with a constantly moving "live" stock ticker
and scrolling teletype "broad tape" of earnings reports and financial/
economic news, full of constant surprises, disasters, and occasional
good news, all of which will tend to give you sweaty palms, as you seek
to adapt and profit from the changing financial world.
The simulation includes 250 companies (IBM, Toyota, Microsoft, etc.)
in 36 industry groups, all of which operate in a "smart," constantly
changing and ruthlessly competitive financial environment. The only
limits on your accumulation of vast wealth in RAIDER are your own
creativity, financial wizardry (which you'll improve), and ability to
finagle within (or around) the SEC, IRS, and antitrust law rules built
into Wall $treet Raider.
Let the corporate wars begin!

----- PRODUCT REVIEWS OF WALL $TREET RAIDER ------------------
WALL $TREET RAIDER has received uniformly excellent reviews from the
press. Here's what some leading computer publications have had to say
about this unique corporate takeover/stock market game or simulation
program:
JERRY POURNELLE, WRITING IN INFOWORLD:
"Most computer games are just fun, of course, but there's an
interesting trend toward simulations -- like Wall Street Raider
-- that can actually teach you something about the real world....
I expect to see a lot more of this kind of game."
BYTE MAGAZINE:
"They're [computer games] getting pretty good. Some, like Wall
Street Raider, are educational to boot: Raider is a detailed
simulation of corporate finance.... [Y]ou can really learn
something about stocks, mergers, takeovers, and the general
world of finance, and HAVE A WHACKING GOOD TIME IN THE BARGAIN."
SHAREWARE MAGAZINE:
"Here's your chance to see how well you can do in the world of
empire building and corporate takeovers--all without risking a
dime. In the process of fooling around with this `real time'
financial simulation program, you're going to learn quite a bit,
too....From the first minute you start working with this program,
you're learning facts, figures, and strategies which are `at play'
out there in the real world of finance. Players who get enough
money (`capital') can easily take over one or more companies.
Watch out when you do that, because the program then `hands over'
all financial responsibility (and problems) of each company you
acquire....
"Keep in mind, however, that in addition to your financial resources
(and any imaginative approaches you might take) you must deal with
`real world' situations which include taxes, antitrust rules and
regulations, and the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission). This
`game' doesn't let you get away with much, except money if you do
happen to `win.'
"Time passes quickly in Wall $treet Raider with a calendar quarter
`ticking off' in less than five minutes. You'll need to do your
research and carefully calculate your moves because a lot is at
stake here. If you decide to play agains the computer, be ready
for one of the most savvy, shrewd, and ruthless players you'll
ever encounter."
MORE COMMENTS, FROM SOME REGISTERED USERS OF WALL $TREET RAIDER:
"This is the best game I've ever played!" -- Stockbroker, Pittsburgh
"Your program is a real hit with my students." -- Law professor,
University of Missouri Law School
"I've been playing Wall Street Raider, in my spare time,
for the past three months. The program is brilliant --
all the more so for how accurately it emulates what
goes on in the real world. The exception being your
sense of humor, which permeates so many otherwise
serious incidents and makes the game very user friendly.
...I'm enthralled by the program and completely obsessed
when I'm using it. My perspective on corporate strategy
and financial markets will never be the same again."
-- User in Belize, Central America
"Great game! Superbly educational! A work of art! Thanks
for share-waring it." -- User, SeaTac, Washington
"Here is my registration fee for your highly enjoyable
`Wall Street Raider'. I have found that it is an
excellent way to work off some aggression after a hard
day on the job." - User, Moline, Illinois
"Your game is very popular at our company. No one here gets
much work completed in these offices since we have commenced
with playing the Wall Street Raider. All it misses is the
false `spreadsheet' screen for when the boss is there.
Please send me your strategy manual, `Take No Prisoners.'"
-- Executive, Brussels, Belgium
